The Rose Hall – Jamaica

Just 20 minutes from Montego Bay, The legend that surrounds Rose Hall and its infamous owner, Annee Palmer, is one that has fascinated generations of locals and visitors alike since its construction in 1770.

Allegedly, Annee was named the “White Witch” because she bedazzled then killed three husbands and countless slave lovers. Apparently she was an admirer of the whip, she was also said to be notorious for torturing slaves for her own sick entertainment.

I toured – then sat quietly – within the grounds to conduct some audio recordings, and sampling of the environment. The audio is still being analysed, and all material will be uploaded over the course of the coming days and week.

Already we have some interesting captures from Rose Hall. The name Palmer, Leave me & Im Over Here, all very clear thus far, and raising an eyebrow or two.

During my visit to this stunning location in the Caribbean, I encountered many tales with regards to the area from both locals, and the shrine of letters and photographs, stored within the lower levels of the mansion.

Often these stories are classified as myth – or locally as fact in some cases – but whatever the reality, the photographs of misty figures, smudged shadows or hard to explain anomalies – that the staff have collected at Rose Hall – are quite something indeed.

I was told by a few locals – one unconnected to the location – that Mrs Palmer’s spirit is active within the grounds and house itself. Witnesses of the apparition, once known as Mrs Palmer, stand at a healthy number and not a mere few as may be initially thought.

On this visit, I never encountered any visual confirmation of such – apart form some interesting photographs from others – but on my initial analysis of the Echovox sessions, I am intrigued!!

These will be shared with everyone as soon as possible via video format, as you can imagine, there is a lot of material to go through.

In the mean time, please do enjoy the following photographs from this location and please do check back for the location video and Echovox updates.
