RRS Discovery

RRS Discovery was the last traditional wooden three-masted ship to be built in Britain. Designed for Antarctic research, she was launched as a Royal Research Ship (RRS) in 1901. Her first mission was the British National Antarctic Expedition, carrying Robert Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton on their first, successful journey to the Antarctic, known as the Discovery Expedition.

She is now the centrepiece of visitor attraction in her home, Dundee.

Mary Kings Close 2007

Thought to be one of the most haunted places in Scotland, The Real Mary King’s Close has appeared on Living TV’s Most Haunted twice and more recently the Sci-Fi Channel’s Ghost Hunters International.

Haunted Scotland owner Ryan O’Neill worked down the close over a 3 year period gathering all types of data. He was instrumental in setting up the Ghost Hunters International visit witnessed on Sci-Fi by liaison between Pilgrim Films and head office at MKC.

The Osnaburg Bar

The Osnaburg Bar has a history of floating shadows and unexplained sounds.

As highlighted in a feature by retired journalist Laurie Rogers, these have been attributed to the spirit of a chimney sweep who died in the flat above.

And the spirits did not let down the members of Scottish Paranormal who monitored the bar with cameras and audio recorders, from midnight to 2.30am.

The group’s medium Bryan Boyle took on the persona of several old customers at the bar.

At one point, a loud thump—which couldn’t be explained—was heard and electronic recording equipment placed in the cellar picked up two voices.

Jim Cunningham, from the group, said, “We are going through all the tape and will be writing up a report of our findings.
