Raw files are Non-Analysed files that are uploaded for transparency, in-depth review, and public access by members of the public who took part in the session.

Public Audio Session: The Pearce Institute

The Pearce at GovanThere have been many reports of past paranormal activity at The Pearce Institute in Glasgow. The apparition of a ghostly woman has been witnessed walking across the foyer for example. Lights have been reported in and around the location, as well as a tap that switches on by itself. The presence of a man has been reported in the main hall on a number of occasions. On one occasion, the caretaker reported hearing organ music coming from the hall, but the organ was in a decommissioned state and couldn’t be played!

The Scottish Fisheries Museum

Scottish FisheriesThe award-winning Scottish Fisheries Museum is located at the harbour of one of Fife’s most picturesque seaside towns, Anstruther. The museum occupies a warren of buildings that run along the east side of the harbour.

Opened in 1969, it has grown over time into a very large complex, occupying a number of converted buildings set around three sides of a cobbled courtyard. These include two Category ‘A’ listed buildings: the 16th century Abbot’s lodging and an 18th century merchant’s house, both of which have historical associations with the fishing life of the village.

Ghost Voices 2015: The Pearce Institute 10/01/15

Echovox Session 10th JanThe Pearce Institute at Govan Cross was designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson in the style of a very large 17th century Scottish townhouse. It was commissioned to be built by Lady Dinah Pearce in memory of her husband Sir William Pearce, MP of the Fairfield Shipyard, who died in 1888. Work took place from 1902 and was completed in 1906.

Castle Menzies: Ghost Events Scotland

The Castle MenziesCastle Menzies is a spectacular sixteenth century castle which was restored by the Menzies Clan Society. This has been the Seat of the Chiefs of Clan Menzies for over 400 years and importantly situated, it was involved in the turbulent history of the Highlands. Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Stuart Pretender to the throne, rested for two nights in the Castle on his way to the Battle of Culloden in 1746. It is located a little to the west of the small village of Weem, near Aberfeldy in the Perthshire highlands, close to the former site of Weem Castle, destroyed c. 1502.

Ghost Voices – Haddo House P1

Haddo House is a Scottish stately home located in Aberdeenshire, approximately 20 miles north of Aberdeen. It’s currently owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

Haddo House in Aberdeen, is said to be haunted by a spirit named Archie, June Marchioness of Aberdeen and Temair – who owned this property – said the spirit was her late husband’s uncle. She continues:  “He was killed in 1908 in one of the first motor crashes. I believe he talks – he once told someone that he wanted to see his parents again. I only put married couples in his old room, because it can be quite frightening.

Spirit Voices: The Salutation Hotel

Reputed to be one of the oldest hotels in Scotland, the Salutation Hotel has been welcoming guests since 1699.

The Salutation Hotel, affectionately named the ‘Sally’, in Perth, has been providing accommodation to guests since 1699. In September 1745, Bonnie Prince Charlie marched from the Island of Eriskay and continued right across the mainland of Scotland.
