Haunted Greyfriars LIVE – Worlds MOST FAMOUS?

Haunted Greyfriars

The Haunted Greyfriars kirkyard is such a draw to many, even at night with many ghost tours running through the area, tourists taking photographs and videos and even a party of 10 people seem to be having a drinking session at one part.

We respectfully wandered the area, telling the REAL history and helping to promote our fantastic capital city to the many tourists who visit.

For years, many visitors to the city who have an interest in the mysteries have wandered the grounds here.

We filmed inside the Covenanters Prison, for example, with ITV1’s Primetime TOUGH GIG back in 2007, we were also invited in to conduct an investigation in 2005 by a tour guide with access via their company.

During Ghost Fest, which we were an official partner, the area was used extensively with our friends Mark Turner, Dr Ciarán O’Keeffe, Steve Parsons, Richard Feelix but to name a few.

However, lately, we were intrigued after the local tour company ran spirit box sessions at the Covenanters Prison JUST 2 YEARS AGO. So decided to use the forefather of their SB7 Scanning devices, The Franks Box!!

First, a little background…

Haunted Greyfriars Kirkyard – and the Covenanter’s prison – in Edinburgh have a world-wide reputation of being active with energies.

The alleged malevolent spirit, claimed connection to the notorious ‘Bluidy’ George Mackenzie who was buried there in 1691, is the prime suspect with regards to some frightening occurrences. (According to a local tour company)

Haunted Greyfriars

The ‘Mackenzie Poltergeist’, as he is affectionately known, is alleged to be the cause of such events. These include, but not limited to, bruising, bites and cuts on those who come into contact.

Many visitors have reported feeling strange sensations, mostly dread.

However, we do not see the classical signs of poltergeist activity. So we can surmise that clearly the place has strange activity, but may this be related to the imprisoned Covenanters?

Are they angry?

Contrary to some unfounded claims, Paranormal Research is NOT banned from these areas – as confirmed by Edinburgh City Council – but any filming for commercial use must be pre-approved.

There are also specific requirements with regards to graves. Please contact the local council for more details, only the council has the authority to advise in these circumstances.

Let’s watch LIVE as we wander the grounds of this open public area of Edinburgh in the hope that our non-intrusive equipment would pick up some data.
